VALVE TECHNICAL TCE

Technical Data Sheet – Solenoid Irrigation Valve

1. Product Description

Two-way solenoid-operated control valve designed for drip, spray, and sprinkler irrigation systems. It is normally closed, opens when voltage is applied, and supports manual or automatic flow control and bleed.

2. Model Options & Sizes

  • Available Sizes: ¾″, 1″, 1½″, 2″ BSP or NPT threaded connections

  • Operation Types: Normally Closed (NC), Normally Open (NO), Latching / Bistable

  • Control Options: 24 VAC or 12–24 VDC solenoid control

3. Technical Specifications

ParameterSpecification
Working Pressure0.65 – 10 bar (depending on model)
Media Temperature0 – 60 °C (up to 66 °C for some models)
Fluid Types SupportedClean water, irrigation fluid
Flow Rate (Typical)5 – 100 L/min (≈0.3 – 6 m³/h), model-dependent
Minimum Differential Pressure0.1 – 0.65 bar for pilot-operated designs
Coil Power (Inrush / Hold)~400 mA / 200 mA @ 24 VAC; ~0.3–2 A for DC versions
Ingress Protection (IP Rating)IP65–IP68 depending on enclosure

4. Materials of Construction

  • Body: Reinforced nylon PA66 (30% glass fiber) or equivalent durable plastic

  • Diaphragm & Seals: Nitrile rubber (NBR)

  • Internal Parts: Stainless steel plunger and spring (AISI 300/400 series)

5. Mechanical & Flow Characteristics

  • Flow Control: Built-in adjustable bypass or flow meter screw for regulation and anti-water hammer protection

  • Manual Bleed: Available via screw or pin for manual opening or air release

  • Response Time: Fast opening (~0.15 s), slower closing (~1–2 s) depending on differential pressure

6. Electrical Specifications

  • Voltage Options: 12 VDC–24 VDC pulse, or 24 VAC ±10%, some models require capacitor for latching types

  • Duty Cycle: Up to 100% ED on AC models; DC latching valves use short pulses for opening/closing

7. Performance Example (¾″ Valve)

Flow Rate (L/min) vs. Pressure Loss (Bar)

  • 5 L/min → ~3 bar loss

  • 18 L/min → ~4.5 bar

  • 28 L/min → ~6 bar

Valve Dimensions (¾″–1″ model): ~11.5 × 11 × 8 cm (height×length×width)

Solenoid Dimensions: ~7.9 × 3.0 cm (length×diameter)

8. Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • Mount valve with solenoid upright for proper operation

  • Install upstream of filters or valves and downstream of pressure regulators

  • Use Teflon tape or thread sealant on pipe threads

  • Check for leaks and test manual bleed function before full operation

  • Replace O-rings or diaphragms as needed during routine service

9. Applications

  • Residential and agricultural irrigation

  • Sprinkler systems, drip irrigation manifolds

  • Master valves for pumps or controllers

  • Valve control in greenhouse and landscape setup
